Mummy picked her up and held her on her lap for ages and she just lay there making this weird clicking noise. Every so often she wanted to go down and Mummy put her on the lawn but her seemed to be getting worse walking each time so Mummy took her inside and wrapped her up in a blankie to stay warm and phoned Daddy. Him said him would meet Mummy at the V E T so Mummy and Katie took her to the V E T. Katie was very scared and was crying lots and cuddling with Lyndsey in the car.
When they got to the V E T Katie didn't want to come in cos she was too sad so Mummy and Daddy took her in and the V E T took one look at her and said she was a very poorly girl. Mummy put her on the floor to show the V E T how bad she was walking and Lyndsey just fell over sideways. So they laid her on the table in her blankie and it was like she had already left us, she was barely conscious. So Mummy and Daddy said she was very old and blind and they didn't want her to suffer and the V E T did agree that it wasn't fair for a active bunny like Lyndsey to live like this so her did give Mummy and Daddy a form to sign then they had cuddles with Lyndsey then her did take her away. Mummy and Daddy was very sad but them did try and be brave for each other. When the V E T did bring Lyndsey back her was all wrapped up in her blankie and them did bring her home and Daddy did bury her in her favourite spot in the garden. Him put some food and some hay in the box for the journey and it was all very very sad. Poor Horace is heartbroken, his best friend in the world has gone.
We bees vewy sad for yous all bout Lyndsey Bunny.We did ave da white Funny Wabbit,him did ave da huze double hutch wid da wun on da side and him did get to wun in da garden too.One day mudda did wake up and wooked out of da window and she did see dat Snowy (hims name) was lyin in da hay in hims wun but it was da early mornin and dis bees not normal cos it was da winter time and hims usually stayed in hims hutch.Mudda did go wunnin out in hers nightie and she could see him not bees well.She did get dwessed vewy fastly and wrapped him in da bwankie and fetched him in da house till da V E T did open.She did take him to da V E T who did say him did bees full of tumours on hims insides and was da vewy pawly.Mudda did say him showed no signs whatsoever of bein ill and da vet did say dat sometimes Wabbits does hide da illness cos it goes back to nature and da survival of da fittest and dey does hide da pawlyness vewy well to save demselfs fwom becomin da pwey in da wild.Mudda did fink nature did score a vewy bad own goal cos him cud ave been helped da much sooner if him ad showed some sign of not bein well.Mudda did feel weally guilty even doh she did care for him vewy well and she did cwy da buckets in da V E T's as him was sent to da Bwidge.She does still feel sad even doh it bees bout 7 years ago cos she did wove dat wickle wabbit who she did take in fwom someone who did not want him anymore.Him was spoilt bunny and got hextra care in da bad weather and dadda did make hims hutch cosy wid speshul weatherproof covers and hims had a speshul ball wid a bell in it to pway wid and him did get wots of veg and tweats and stuff.We does know hexactly how sad you does feel and we does send you da hugs and wots of wove cos we ave been der and never weally got over it cos bunnies bees da gweat pets and dey bees good fun.We did bury Snowy in ours garden too and mudda does still miss him all dees years later.We does know dat we did give him da good life,zust wike you did wid Lyndsey and dat bees what you as to fink of cos wots of wabbits don't get da good life and suffer in tiny manky cages wid hardly any foodies and water and are zust weft to wiv der lives unwoved at da bottom of da garden.Dog Bwess Lyndsey Bunny,she will bees wunnin awound in da cawwot field at da bwidge and will be fankin you all for hers gweat life of happy bunnyness. ReplyDeleteme has heard that before about little animals hiding their sickness, it the same with hamsters and guinea pigs and little critters like that. My humans had a guinea pig called Scrufty before we did come to live here and he got sick really quickly and had to be PTS. Him had a lung tumour or something what he had been hiding. We does thank you and mudda for your kind words, them did make mummy cry a little but in a good way xx
ReplyDeleteWe did know how you did feel and we not mean to make yous mummy cwy but wabbits is vewy zentle cweatures and wike da wovin zust wike any udder pet.Mudda did feel more sad cos him did wiv outside and she not sit on da sofa wid him wike she does wid us doggies and ave da cuggles evewyday.We did ave da Thingypig as well,him was called Zeorge and him did ave da posh hutch too.In da winter mudda did move hims hutch into da small shed in da garden.Dadda did adapt da shed and put da hutch on a shelf him did make and him did cut da door in half so it bees wike a stable door.At night time mudda did close da top door to keep hims warmer and in da mornin did open da door so him did ave daylight and could see outside.Zeorge did wiv for a wot of years and one mornin mudda went out wid hims cawwot and veg and put dem in his hutch and waited for him to dash out fwom hims sweepin compartment and wun back wid hims cawwot but him not appear.Mudda got scared and ad to get da next door neighbour to come and wook cos dadda bees at work but it did bees da sad news cos Zeorge ad gone to da bwidge in da night time. :-( Him did zust fall asweep cos of da old aze so mudda was sad but she did fink him ad been da spoilt Thingypig and did ave da good long life and him did get buwwied in da garden too.We does never forget even da small fuwwies cos dey did bwing a wot of happiness and it bees nice to care for dem.It bees ok to be sad when dey as gone to da bwidge cos dey bees missed but it bees so nice dat yours and ours bunnies and Thingypigs did get da best of care when dey were wid us and dat bees da comfort to wook back on der lives and makes da nice memowies.xxxx
